The next step in professional development, the show highlights up-and-coming singers and marks the return of Cabaret Pittsburgh artists who have begun to build a career. The show is preceded by a networking reception with Josh Pultz, senior agent with DGRW Talent Agency in NYC, invited guests, and Cabaret Pittsburgh personnel. The Local Showcase is a “live and in person” and Live and Online” signature event.

GENERAL CALL
Anyone interested in participating in Cabaret Pittsburgh activities can contact us to request an audition appointment and/or submit headshot/resume to be considered for a season of cabaret opportunities aimed at strengthening the local singing talent pool.  Upcoming events include:

 1) Master Class with KT Sullivan – Saturday, March 22, 2008:
One of eight slots to work directly with KT Sullivan in her “Interpreting Song for the Cabaret Stage” master class (The master class is Saturday, March 22nd at a location downtown from 10am – 12pm.  If selected, the cost is $60 to participate and $30 to observe).  Sullivan starred on Broadway in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Threepenny Opera, Broadway The Play and others.  Singers interested in this master class will need to be available for the class on March 22nd.

2) Local Showcase – April 21, 2008: 
To be considered for a slot to perform in the Cabaret Pittsburgh Local Showcase held at the Renaissance Hotel.  Those selected will be expected to put together a set of songs tied by patter for performance during the showcase.  Talent will be paid, guided by Cabaret Pittsburgh leadership, and seen by industry professionals.

2) Master Class with Talent Agent Josh Pultz – April 21, 2008: 
Join Josh Pultz, senior agent with DGRW Talent Agency in New York City, for an afternoon of discovery into the mind of a talent agent. Select performers will be invited to display their wares in front of a public audience and receive feedback from the perspective of an agent looking for talent to represent. Learn how decisions are made and what you can do to strengthen your ability to identify the right agent for you at the right time in your career.The cost is $60 to directly participate and $30 to observe the class.
